Despite the fall in the stock market, many penny stocks touched the upper circuit today and


Mumbai: The US Fed Reserve has increased interest rates by 75 basis points to control inflation. Due to this, the domestic stock market opened with a fall today. The dollar index has reached the top of two decades, due to which the rupee also reached a record low. The BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading lower by half a percentage point amid weak global cues. The BSE Financial Services and BSE Bankex sectors declined over one per cent. Like yesterday, most of the sectors were trading with a downside. The BSE Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector caught the attention of investors with a gain of nearly one per cent.

At 10:55 am, the BSE Sensex was trading at 59,153 points, down 0.51%. The Nifty 50 index fell 0.53% to 17,624 points. ITC Ltd, Hindustan Unilever and Nestle India were the top gainers in Sensex stocks, while Bajaj Finserv, Power Grid Corporation of India and HDFC declined. Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet has approved the second phase of the Performance Linked Incentive Scheme for the development of Solar PV Modules. Its budget is Rs 19,500 crore.
